She's Here!

Our little Laney is 3 weeks old today.  Wow, how time flies.  My delivery went well.  I had a c-section this time because I had a fourth degree episiotomy with Lucas and a very painful recovery.  My wonderful friend Katy prepared me for what to expect step by step.  This helped tremendously.  It was no picnic but I am glad we did the c-section.  It was a bit more traumatic but all in all my recovery was easier and faster.  I felt better 1 week after than I did with Lucas.

Lucas was not a "good" baby.  He had screaming colick and never went more than 2 hours between feedings until he was 3 months.  Not a great first baby for a new mother.  Well, we made it through this first few months and he was still a precious blessing.  I hate to even blog this next part because I don't want to mess up Laney's sleep but here it goes...Laney is easier than Lucas was....She does have a gassy tummy but so far it is not as bad as brother.  She will eat about every 2-3 hours during the day and the past week she will go 3-4 hours at night.  Man, I hope she continues that.  The first 2 weeks I felt like the normal Mommy zombie with no sleep.  Last week, I had a few days of actually feeling human.  Don't get me wrong, it is still hard, just easier this time.  Laney's fault is wanting to be held a lot.  Lucas would let me put him down more than her.  We are really enjoying our life with 2 kids.  Lucas had a rough first few days after we brought her home, but now he is doing so great!  He is a great big brother!

Sweet Baby Girl!

Lucas' first reaction to his new Baby Sister.  So sweet!

We were so exhausted coming home from the hospital.

What a good Big Brother!  He helps me so much with her!

I love these next two pictures.

Not a very good blogger

Wow, the last time I blogged I was only 10 weeks pregnant.  I am now 36!!! weeks.  Oh, time has not gone by very fast!  I am scheduled to have Baby Laney in 3 weeks!  I am so excited and ready!  I am to the point of being done with pregnancy.  Actually I am far past that point if I am being honest.  Hopefully these last 3 weeks will go by fast.  I have a dr appt on Wednesday.  I am not expecting any progress.  After all, Lucas was 4 days late.  I see no hope of an early delivery.  Hopefully I will post pictures of Baby Laney soon after delivery.  I am not a very good blogger....

And then there were 4...

We are so excited that Lucas will be a big brother in Sept.  He wants a baby boy, Daddy wants a baby girl, and Mommy just wants a baby that is a good sleeper.  :)

Lucas has 4 names picked out.  Igloo, Brynlee (our niece), Taxi, and Lucas

We are so happy!  Mommy is ready for the morning sickness to pass!   I am 10 1/2 weeks and counting!

So Blessed

We had a great holiday season.  Lucas was so fun this year at Christmas.  He is the perfect age to enjoy the season.  He got lots of presents!  He is definitely on the spoiled side.

This is Lucas and Gracen at Nanee and PaPa's house.

Lucas and Gracen got scooters from Nanee and PaPa.

Lucas especially enjoyed having a white Christmas.  When it snowed in early December, he thought that meant Santa was coming.  I told him that it did not have to snow for Santa to come.  Well, it turns out he was right, it did snow before Santa came!

We also had a great New Year.  We had a great start to 2010!  This past year has been good, but full of different heartaches.  I am glad to move on and heal after some hard times this past year.  2010 has many blessings in store for our whole family.  I am looking forward to seeing all that the new year will bring.  I am so blessed to have a healthy and happy family.  Lucas is such a joy, even though he can be very difficult at times.  I look forward to seeing how he changes and grows.  I can't believe he is almost 4.  I also look forward to where God will lead us this next year.  We have many things on our hearts for the Lord.  I am anxious, and also excited to see where the Lord will lead us in the future.  2010 will be full of new adventures.  I hope I can handle everything that is thrown at me!

I pray that your new year is full of new adventures, blessings, and health!  I hope that you will continue to grow in the Lord and be open to where he might take you in the New Year.
